I can't believe one whole year has gone by since we got married!! It's gone by really fast. We've had many ups and downs and many fights (nothing too major, thank goodness!), but I'm eager to see how the 2nd year of marriage goes. I've always heard the 1st year is the hardest and worst, and then something just "clicks" during the 2nd year and things get much better. So I'm trying to patiently wait for things to "click"! Overall it wasn't bad and we both have learned a lot. I know there will be a lot more learning to do, but it will be good. We haven't eaten our cake yet, and we're not really looking forward to it because we've heard how gross it is! Who ever thought to waste, I mean save :), a whole layer of cake??? I'll upload pictures from our trip to Puerto Vallarta next week. My summer class started this week and it is a lot of busy work, so I really need to get on that! Here's a couple of pictures though....

Happy Easter
Happy Easter!!! We didn't do a whole lot. Went to church, then to eat lunch with Alan's family, then to my mom's for dinner. Had a good family day. Oh, and I FINALLY got to have chocolate! I stayed up till midnight (which I would have been up anyway) and only had 2 little pieces. I didn't want to eat a lot right before bed. It tastes better now than it ever has before! I can't believe I was able to go the whole time (and NO I did NOT eat it on Sundays) without it! It's weird how you can say no to something because you made a promise to God, yet if we make a promise to ourselves or anyone else, it's easier to break it. I know the girls at work will be thrilled they don't have to hear me complain anymore! They got all of us Easter baskets with candy and goodies in it, and I got the bonus HUGE chocolate bunny for having to endure those long weeks without it!

A challenge for Lent
Lent starts today. I've always observed Lent, but I've never actually given anything up. No, I'm not Catholic, I'm Lutheran which is similar. And actually, we don't even go to a Lutheran church, we go to a Nazarene church. They usually don't give up anything for Lent either. This year Alan and I decided to try it out and see how much of a challenge this will be for us! I chose to give up chocolate, which is something I eat almost every day! I know it's bad, but I almost can't help it!! I love love love chocolate!!! I was going to try and do all sweets, but I honestly don' think I can go that far! I'm not big on candy, so that wouldn't be something to give up since I really don't eat it. Although, since I can't have chocolate, I may have to use candy as my last resort!! Today's the first day of Lent, and I already want some chocolate. Probably because I know I can't have it! I will be doing a ton of praying for the next 40 days! Lent ends on Easter Sunday, and I will be enjoying that Easter candy more then, than any other Easter!
Alan decided to give up cookies for Lent. He eats cookies and milk almost every day too. I know, we are awful!!! That is really the only sweet he eats, besides Reece's. I have a feeling he will slip and forget that he isn't suppose to have the cookies!
What are you giving up for Lent???????

Merry Christmas
Here's some Christmas pictures. Alan and I just did stockings (well we actually got a 50 inch plasma for our living room instead of actual presents this year) with some small stuff. We opened them Christmas Eve because we were snowed in, and bored out of our minds! I can only watch so much TV and I was done!! I got him some Under Armour stuff and a fishing related ornament (which I do every year) and he got me some socks (that I wanted lol), a gift certificate for a massage, and some perfume. We ended up spending more than what we should have since we did buy the TV but oh well...it's Christmas!!
